Greenville Banner program installed

Luminant Design's banner program for Greenville NY has been installed. A mix of both rural and contemporary designs, the banner program is a reflection of the Town of Greenville's Master Plan, and a part of a larger placemaking strategy in development.

Completion of a visual study of signage code in
the 2010 ADA Standards for Accessible Design

For those in the signage and environmental graphic design industry who are looking for an easy-to-read summary of accessibility code, Luminant Design has created "Signage and the 2010 ADA Standards". This document provides a visual summary of often-referenced code information about signage design. Aproduct of 3 years development, the document also contains additional supplemental information concerning what fonts are compliant with the 2010 ADA Standards for Accessible Design, and additional information about finish and contrast, using Matthews Paints light reflectance values.

Completion of an Emergency Medical Services information website in the Albany, NY

Luminant Design has just completed a redesign and content strategy for the website of the Regional Emergency Medical Organization (REMO) based in Albany, New York. The website is used by EMS and medical staff in the Albany area as a source for information regarding training, medical advisory alerts, and news within the Albany medical community.

Lectures at IxDA, CHI, and UX London 2009 conferences.

William Bardel of Luminant Design and Mark Baskinger of Letter13 design agency will teach their workshop "Drawing Ideas" at the following conferences in 2009:

IxDA Interation'09 conference in Vancouver, Canada (Friday, February 6th)
Computer Human Interaction conference (CHI'09) in Boston, USA (Monday April 6th)
UX London 2009 conference in England (Wednesday, June 17th)

Drawing Ideas (established 2007) consists of lecture and exercises focused around hand sketching as a visual collaborative process and technique for creative brainstorming and problem solving. Participants learn and then experiment with a variety of idea-generating techniques such as visual mapping and diagramming, storyboards and storytelling, mood/image boards and visual notationfor idea development. Past course participants included staff from SAP, Microsoft, Autodesk, and Bosch.
